  • Problem

    Due to a shortage of Manufacturing Operators and Warehousemen, our client wanted help with creating an employer brand, and with recruitment for these specific positions within the Liberec Region. Given the unsatisfactory situation on the labour market in this region, and the intense competition among companies in the same field, the client was ready to reach for completely new technologies and procedures. They were also looking to save precious time for their already busy HR department.

  • Our solution

    The first step was to prepare a communication tree with regard to the target group, and deploy the chatbot in Messenger. The chatbot was named Robert, after a real-life HR recruiter at Knorr-Brems. Next, we started building the company’s employer brand through Facebook campaigns focused on the Liberec Region. The campaigns led people directly to the chatbot, which allowed us to establish contact with potential candidates for the positions of Manufacturing Operator and Warehouseman. The chatbot conducted a basic pre-selection process, thus saving the HR Department a lot of work. Thanks to the chatbot’s success with the Operator and Warehouseman positions, we added the position of Technologist the following month.

Where are we now

With Knorr-Bremse, we won the 2018 Internet Effectiveness Award thanks to the fact that the Robert chatbot brought in a record number of people for an interview in the highly competitive environment of the Liberec Region. In addition, we manage and develop the chatbot, and the Facebook recruitment campaign for blue-collar and tech positions. We report data from the chatbot to the client in real time, and based on that data, we continue to make improvements to the individual chatbots’ communication trees.

In just 2 months, the chatbot brought us 65 candidates for the positions of Manufacturing Operator, Warehouseman and Forklift Driver. We invited 25 of them for an interview. We employed 7 of them on a full-time basis, and the others are in the selection process. What we’re planning next

We plan on further developing Robert for the recruitment of Manufacturing Operators and Technologists for Knorr-Bremse in the Liberec Region. At the same time, we intend to use chatbots in internal communication and internal processes for manufacturing plants in Hungary and Germany.
